Scott has 18 years of college baseball experience as a coach and player. For the last 14 years, he has coached at Division I and II levels at the University of New Orleans, Mount St. Mary’s University, and Shippensburg University. He also coached two years at Waynesboro Area High School. During his coaching career, Scott’s roles included Associate Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Recruiting Coordinator, Director of Camps and Clinics, and instruction in all areas of the game. He has facilitated the development of 19 players that continued their playing careers at the professional level, five All-Americans, and numerous All-Region and All-Conference players. After playing at Waynesboro Area High School, Scott continued his playing career at Penn State University where he was a four-year letter winner and served as captain his senior season. Scott is available for private and group baseball lessons as well as camps and clinics.
Casey played baseball at Chambersburg High School and went on to play 4 years at James Madison University. He was drafted 3 times and signed with the Chicago Cubs as a 30th round pick in 1996. He played 3 seasons in the Cubs organization. Casey coached 8 years at Greencastle High School after finishing his playing career including a 3 year run as Varsity Coach compiling a 42-23 record and winning 3 Mid-Penn Capital Division Title. Casey is part of a very accomplished baseball family in the area as his father, Ike, and Cousin, Tom, played in the Major Leagues. Casey is available for private and group baseball lessons and will be involved in camps and clinics throughout the year.
Mick played his high school baseball at Hancock High School, where he was named Maryland Gatorade Player of the Year in 1988. After high school, he was selected to be a member of the 1988 USA Junior Olympic Baseball Team. Mick played four years of college baseball at The University of Alabama, where he was named SEC Player of the Week two consecutive weeks. Mick was drafted three times and finally signed with the California Angels (9th round) in 1992. He played two seasons of Single-A ball in the Angels Organization. Upon being released, he then played in an independent league with the Minneapolis Loons for 2 seasons. Mick has a combined total of 12 years of high school baseball coaching experience with 11 years as Head Coach at St. James School, near Hagerstown, MD.
Bob played professional baseball in the Baltimore Orioles organization for 3 years after playing at Hagerstown C.C. Before signing with the Orioles, he was drafted in the 10th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1982. From 1985-1989, he was a member of the Shady Bower/Shirk’s Men’s Fastpitch Team who were the MD Class A State Champions in 1988. Bob has been involved with both baseball and softball for many years in the South Central PA area. He is the President and founder of the Mason Dixon Blaze Fastpitch Softball Organization 10U-16U and Director of their Summer Clinics. He is also a Co-Director of the Best of Softball Clinic (2004-2010). Bob was the Head Coach for the Greencastle-Antrim JV Softball team from 2007-2008. Bob will be available for private and group lessons in both baseball and softball.
Brian Canida is from Amarillo, Texas. He graduated from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas where he finished his college baseball career and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Fitness Management Composite with a Specialization in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. Brian is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Strength and Conditioning coach. He is also certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a personal trainer as well as a Youth Exercise specialist and Performance Enhancement Specialist. Brian is available for hitting & fielding instruction along with personal training.
Autumn joins the staff at The Athlete’s Edge with 10 years of Softball Pitching Instruction. Autumn attended and played softball at Davis & Elkins College, a Division II University that was part of the Great Mid-West Athletic Conference. Prior to attending Davis & Elkins College, Autumn was a member of the Greencastle-Antrim High School Varsity Softball team from 2008-2011. While there she helped pitch their way to the PIAA State playoffs three out of four years. In 2009, Autumn pitched and won the PIAA District III and PIAA State Tournament Championship games. During her high school days, Autumn pitched for the Heartbreakers Gold travel softball team that competed up and down the east coast against some of the nations top ranked travel teams.
